Moi’s first experience with electronic music came in the summer of 1999. A good friend of his, took him to a warehouse party where Moi experience the electronic scene movement first hand with Marc Farina on the decks. Immediately Moi became infatuated with the music, the culture and the people. Shortly after his encounter with house music Moi took up spinning and has been laying it down ever since. In the summer of 2000 Moi along side members of his dj collective, Moonlight Enigma, began what was one of the longest running weekly’s in his home town of El Paso, TX. The La Tuya sessions rapidly became the underground sound of the city at that time. Featuring many local talented dj’s as well as well known artist like Robbie Hardkiss. That Sunday night weekly ran for over two years and is still regarded as one of the most successful and fun nights even today.
Through out the years Moi has developed a unique style that always gets the crowed going. His mixes are full of dark tribal beats filled with tranced out baselines. Moi has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many talented artist including: Sandra Collins, Skylab 2000, Robbie Hardkiss, Ronski Speed, Nicholas Benison, Theo, Terry Mullan, Kenneth Graham, Soul Slinger, Erik Davenport, Diesel boy and Jason Splat to name a few. Moi’s unique dj style has given him the pleasure of playing through out the Southwestern United States and several parts in Mexico. Moi now resides in Tempe, Arizona and is currently playing at several well known clubs in the area as well as rave parties and festivals. Last August Moi had the privilege of being featured on Protons radio show with Opencloud where he laid down and excellent mix which featured several original compilations by Moi.
When Moi is not out Playing, he is in the studio, creating fresh new music and beats. Moi’s production style ranges from dark progressive, tribal, tech-house and electro. Most of his music has tribal percussion and rumbling bass lines that can make a dance floor explode. Moi has released several tracks on places like Releaserecords, Audiojelly, Juno and 3beat to name a few.
