| The
joy of this job is not only to get great new tracks before other,
but, to be introduced to other producers that you not familiar
with and fall in love with their work. That’s the case with
Argentinean based producer Julio Largente. At only 24, Julio is
displaying great potential by only releasing only a few tracks
thus far but getting great responses from the likes of Nick Warren,
Hernan Cattaneo, MOS and many others.
As
for Julio’s second solo release for BIT records Deep
Rom is bass induced groover with sultry overlays and
catchy hi hat production work. His timid kicks compliment the
sedative tone of Deep Rom, with airy synths and dreamy melodies.
The breaks keep a euphoric vibe with uplifting chord progression
and beatific ambiances that whisk you away until Largente’s
lush bass brings you back with its own humble melody.
On
the flip side Julio Largente remix delivers
a darker rendition with his Blue mix. Equipped with the same bass
melody as the original Julio intertwines a separate more pungent
bass hook that coaxes the ambient interpretations. An eerie rework
of original overlays and synths create a more mechanic vibe but
still evolve into a docile melodic attainment towards the end.
Along side this reapproach is a vast break that persuades Deep
Rom back to its uplifting origin momentarily only to retreat to
its techier production.
This
is a fantastic release of an artist that I will keep in mind as
I fish through tracks. This will stay in my rotation for a while
I can’t wait to see what comes next from this guy. Be sure
to check out his collaborations with Juan Mayol under the name
Moskata.
