Casco teams up again with Flymars to bring another dark progressive
release for BIT Records. Since their original collaboration on
BIT, Casco and Flymars have consistently produced quality tracks
together, and this EP is no exception.
Orbital
Night starts off the EP with a standard drum work and dubbed vox
echoing throughout. A grimy bass gets introduced and creates an
eerie vibe as Orbital Night pushes on with its subtle mood. Overlaying
ambiances compliment the simple piano melody and drifts softly
into a well-designed breakdown that gradually builds with industrial
like drums until sliding back onto its filthy bass.
The
Blind Pervert original drum production reminds me of the darker
progressive of the past, with it’s choppy crisp snares and
hi-hats. The low growling bass coincides with its swelling effects
and gradually builds until the slightly empty break. This track
is a 10-minute groover that really doesn’t do much more
than build, from the moment the bass is introduced it just gets
heavier and only breaks up the monotony with addition of new overlays
and ambient sounds.
If
you’re looking for a track that pumps the crowd then looking
elsewhere is probably your best bet. This release is quality deep
dark progressive that can make your set plummet into deeper depths
with eerie grooves and rumbling bass, a perfect attribute to give
your mix an alternate mood before escalating the energy.
